International Gynecology Awareness Day

International Gynecology Awareness Day
September 10 is International Gynecology Awareness Day (IGAD), created in 2001 by vulvar cancer survivor Kath Mazzella.
Gynecology concerns the health of the female reproductive organs, and the prevention, screening and monitoring of pathologies, including cancers. Yet this subject is still surrounded by taboos and silence, due to embarrassment, fear or lack of information…
It’s recommended to make an appointment with your first gynecologist around the age of 25 to have a cervical smear, then repeat it every 3 years if the results are normal, in order to prevent pathologies and detect cancers at an early stage 💡
This day aims to:
🔹Sensitize and inform about gynecological pathologies and female cancers,
🔹breaking taboos so that talking about intimate health is no longer a barrier to prevention or care,
🔹favoring dialogue between patients, loved ones and healthcare professionals, for appropriate support.
In this Turquoise September, gynecological cancer awareness month, it’s essential for us to remind people that education and support can save lives and improve women’s quality of life.
➡️ Talking about your gynecological health means protecting yourself and getting support.
At LATTICE MEDICAL, we contribute to this mission by developing innovative medical devices designed to improve patients’ quality of life, such as our MATTISSE solution.
